What is the nursery environment like?

Our goal is to create an environment where your child feels at home, relaxed and ready to learn.  Lowered voices, walking inside, respecting each childs' work space.  An informal setting where children can explore what interests them without noisy distractions, moving about freely, as they would at home rather than teacher directed activities.

Can I visit the nursery during the day?

Of course!  Please call to arrange an appointment.

How will I know how my child is doing?

One of our programs goals is to communicate openly with the parents.  Written progress reports are given to the parents twice yearly with formal parent / teacher conference sessions.  Naturally you can speak to your childs teacher throughout the term.

Do the children wear a uniform?

We are excited to announce summer and winter uniforms are available.  We strongly encourage the wearing of the the uniform to enable all the children to feel part of the nursery community.  Please ensure your child does not wear jewelry that can get caught on the playground equipment or lost.  All clothing must be clearly  labeled with your child's name.

Can children bring books, toys etc from home?

If a comforting toy is needed to ease the transition to nursery we are happy for the child to have these until they are settled.  We request that children do not bring toys or stuffed animals after they are settled as we have many, many materials here for them.
